What Time May Heal
By Abi Roe
The love of my life will never come back.
The hole that he left cannot be healed,
But maybe with time, the code I will crack.
And I will retrieve my pained heart he did steal.
Worry not my love; I swear I won’t kill,
For how could I hit such a perfect face?
But hey, for safety, your face you should shield.
I will get over you; I quit the chase.
Your acts so rough -- you just will not change.
You can’t change your heart, nor
your hateful words.
When you’re dead, there’ll be no one to blame.
Because I’ll be gone – of that I’m sure.
Time may heal my heart or nothing at all.
But this much I know – I’m gonna
stand tall.
