Am I Just a School?
By Ines Diaz-Lopez, Mark
Harden, & Anna Littledeer
I am the cars driving around
the school.
I am the bell ringing to
warn students to get to class.
I am the morning
announcements to tell you the 411.
I am the teacher teaching
you life lessons.
Am I just a school?
I am the hallway listening
to people gossip.
I am the students slamming
the locker.
I am the floor constantly
getting stepped on.
I am the camera watching
your every move.
Am I just a school?
I am a desk sitting in a lonely classroom.
I am pencils waiting to be
held.
I am chalk dust in the air
from someone cleaning the board.
I am the flag in the
classroom swinging from the air conditioner.
Am I just a school?
I am an athlete wearing a
jersey on game day.
I am a cheerleader cheering
on the team.
I am a football player in
tight pants.
I am the taste of victory on
Homecoming.
Am I just a school or am I
more?
