Shasta Backus

With blue-green eyes and brown hair with blonde highlights, Shasta Backus enjoys wearing printed t-shirts and hoodies. Classmates say she is quiet, except for a few stifled laughs and words exchanged with Braxton Rhea.

Friendly freshman, Shasta, has many favorites including watching Selena, George Lopez, and “That 70s Show.” Playing on the computer is another favorite hobby. However, her number one favorite activity is texting her friends.

“I like texting because it’s faster, and I can see what I’m saying,” said Shasta.

Shasta’s friends describe her as “loveable and outgoing,” which may explain why she loves the color pink and anything bright and neon.

Cookies and cream ice cream, pickles, and her Chinese-restaurant specialty -- vanilla ice cream mixed with sweet and sour sauce and fortune cookies -- are Shasta’s favorite foods.

“It sounds gross, but it’s good!” said Shasta.
