Project Title:  Goodbye

Vignette:  You’re Next

All I could hear was my sister crying from the other room and the loud smack of the hands on my mom making contact with her face. I ran to the other room to get my older brother.

Blaine – Come quick!  Mom and Bailey are at it again!”

As we ran into the kitchen, we noticed mom had already left the room.  Now all that there was to see was my sister huddled up in a corner with blood all over her white shirt and all over the floor.  I ran in to ask Mom what was going on.  With her face really close to mine, she yelled, “You’re next!”

Vignette:  Runaway Child, Runaway

CRACK was the only thing you could hear under the midnight moon; the sounds of sticks breaking under my feet as I ran away from home.

“Should I do this?” I wondered in my head.

Then I thought about the reason I was running.  I couldn’t stop thinking about how she hit me in the mouth, how I fell to the ground, and how I had tears in my eyes.  I whispered under my breath, “I wish she was dead!”
