Her hair blew in the wind like waves
of black smoke rolling off her head. His hand shook slightly as
he held the gun to her temple. The rocks gave way gently as they
walked toward the cliff’s edge. Nearly-silent sobs escaped her
mouth and her eyes were blinded by the swelling tears. Sirens
wailed, a gun shot rang out, and she ran as fast as she could
toward the path he led her down.
She heard his painful grumbles and foot steps sneaking swiftly
behind her. Soon enough, she heard a man in front of her calling
her name. His voice was familiar and comforting. She pushed
herself harder to escape into his arms.
